Public Hearing Notice - Parks Impact Fee Code - 3-17-23 NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING Title 19 Code Amendments for Parks Impact Fee (Non-Project Action) Files 23-100953-UP and 23-100951-SE The City of Federal Way’s Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 5 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers (33325 8th Avenue South, Federal Way, WA 98003). The Commission will hear testimony and provide a recommendation to the City Council’s Land Use and Transportation Committee on proposed City code amendments related to adoption of a City Parks Impact Fee. The City of Federal Way’s Parks Department is requesting to establish a Parks Impact Fee based on eligible costs of existing park assets, planned parks projects and the city’s expected growth. The impact fee would help fund parks projects. This would require updates to Title 19 of Federal Way Revised Code, zoning and development code, including establishment of a Park Impact Fees chapter. The official file for this proposal is available for public review at the Community Development Department (address above). A staff report will be available on March 29, 2023. Any person may submit written comments to the Planning Commission prior to the hearing, present written comments to the commission during the hearing, and/or may appear at the hearing to provide verbal testimony.
