I'm emailing to express my concern regarding the Master Land Use Process IV — Planting Flowers Learning
Center located at 30819 14th Avenue S, Federal Way, WA 98003.
Extremely bright, blue -white, unshielded LED lights have been installed on all sides of the building. The lights
are facing directly out from the building. These lights are so bright, they are throwing an intense light and glare
a great distance from the building. The lights are shining directly into the bedrooms of condo units behind this
building, at Lake Easter Estates. This interferes with people's ability to sleep properly at night. As you are
driving towards this building at night on south 308th street, the lights create extreme glare, and are even brighter
than the lights installed on the football field at Federal Way High School, which are across the street.
Easter Lake is just a few feet from this building. Migrating birds use this lake as a stopping point. Studies have
shown that light pollution can put migratory birds at risk of exhaustion, predation, and lethal collision with
buildings.
