AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, ADOPTING BY
REFERENCE THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATION
COMMISSION'S RATE REGULATIONS FOR IMPLEMENTING
THE RATE REGULATION AUTHORITY SET FORTH IN THE
CABLE TELEVISION CONSUMER PROTECTION AND
COMPETITION ACT OF 1992,47 USC SECTION 543.
WHEREAS, the city of Federal Way City Council finds that this
ordinance is in the interest of the public health,
safety and
welfare; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
section 1.
Cable Television Rate Reaulations Adopted bv
Reference.
The rate regulations set forth in the Report and Order
dated May 3, 1993 issued by the Federal Communications commission
pursuant to
the
authority
set
forth
in the
Cable Television
Consumer Protection and Competition Act of 1992 ("Cable Act") under
47
USC
§543,
containing
rules,
forms
and
procedures
for
implementing the rate regulation provisions of the Cable Act,
including all future additions, deletions and amendments thereto,
are hereby àdopted by reference as the City of Federal Way's rate
regulations.
section 2.
Severabili tv. The provisions of this ordinance
are declared separate and severable.
The invalidity of any clause,
sentence,
paragraph,
subdivision,
section,
or portion of this

ordinance or the invalidity of the application thereof to any
person or circumstance,
shall not affect the validity of the
remainder of the ordinance, or the validity of its application to
other persons or circumstances.
section 3.
Ratification.
Any act consistent with the
authority and prior to the effective date of this ordinance is
hereby ratified and affirmed.
section 4.
Effective
Date.
This
ordinance
shall
be
effective thirty (30) days after passage, as provided by law.
