COMMISSION BUSINESS
Introduction of New Members
Commissioners Brugato and Ettinger introduced themselves to the Commission.
Project Prioritization Matrix
The goal of the Matrix is to come up with an objective way to rank projects; what does the community think is
most important, what does the commission think is most important and what funding is available for these
projects. Commissioners must be very consistent when scoring each individual project. Staff Gerwen reported
that there have been some changes; Parks staff has met with the Community Development Department and
there may be an opportunity for funding for master planning Brooklake and Steel Lake Park. These projects
are listed in the PROS plan. There are three projects that could be added to the matrix. The third project is the
Korean Garden and Council is in full support of this project. After discussion, the commission agreed to add
the Korean Garden and the Master planning of Brooklake and Steel Lake Park. Staff Gerwen requested that
the Commissioners fill out the matrix to the best of their abilities and be prepared to discuss it at the June 2
meeting. The commission discussed developing a community survey and have that available at the Parks &
Recreation Commission booth at the Red, White & Blues Festival.
STAFF REPORTS
