Establishment of a Sister City Relationship

The citizens of the cities of Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, Japan, and Federal
Way, Washington, United States of America, signed and exchanged a declaration
of their intent to form a sister city relationship on February 17, 1993, in Federal
Way.
We hereby jointly declare that the two cities now enter into a relationship through
programs in such fields as education, culture, commerce, and sports.
It is our intent that this relationship contribute to promoting better relations
between our two countries and consequently to the peace and prosperity of the
world. Bothcities affirm that they will promote good will and peaceful relations
through this sister city program.
Signed in duplicate in Hachinohe on the first day of August, 1993, in English and
Japanese languages.

DECLARATION OF COMMITMENT
TO A SISTER CITIES RELATIONSHIP
The City of Federal Way, Washington, U. S. A., and the City of
Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, Japan hereby jointly declare that the
two cities will enter into a relationship through programs in such
fields as education, culture, commerce and sports.
It is our intent that this relationship contribute to
promoting better relations between our two countries and
consequently to the peace and prosperity of the world. Both cities
confirm that they will promote good will and peaceful relations
through a sister city program.
By our signatures on this statement in the City of Federal
Way, Washington, U. S. A., we hereby certify that we agree to the
above statement.
