I.
CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor McColgan called the special meeting of the Federal Way City Council to order at
the hour of 5:00 p.m.
Councilmember present: Mayor Dean McColgan, Deputy Mayor Linda Kochmar,
èouncilmembers Jeanne Burbidge, Jack Dovey, Eric Faison, Jim Ferrell, and Mike Park.
Staff present: City Manager David Moseley, City Attorney Pat Richardson, City Clerk
Chris Green.
II.
CITIZEN COMMENT
Kevin King, Human Services Commissioner, spoke in support of continued funding for
Human Services programs, which support and aid those less fortunate.
Joann Piquette, spoke to Council, in support of continued funding for Arts programs in the
next budget.
III.
2005/2006 BIENNIAL BUDGET
Department Presentations
Community Development Director Kathy McClung presented her departments proposed
budget. Ms. McClung presented an outline chart of the department, accomplishments of the
department and upcoming projects.
Interim Parks and Recreation and Cultural Services Director Donna Hanson distributed
information and presented her departments proposed budget including the department's
organizational structure, accomplishments, projects, and capital plan. Property Services
Manager Steve Ikerd, Recreation Superintendent Mary Faber, and Park Planner Betty
Sanders also made presentations to Council regarding their divisions.

COUNCIL DISCUSSIONS AND QUESTIONS
Ms. McClung and Ms. Hanson responded to various questions from Councilmembers.
IV.
ADJOURNMENT
There being nothing further to come before the Federal Way City Council, Mayor
McColgan adjourned the meeting at 6:20 p.m.
