• Attendees will be welcomed in to the event and encouraged to walk around and gather information.
OPENING REMARKS/ Q & A ~ 6:05-6:30
City staff introductions and welcoming of the public. Mention what the goals/objectives are for the open
house (i.e. inform/educate community about the SMP Update process, answer questions, and collect
feedback).
TWC gives a brief overview of the Periodic SMP Update process, general content of the proposed
amendments (i.e. Gap Analysis summary), and summary of next steps. [TWC to use brief PowerPoint slide
presentation.]
Brief Q&A
Thank people for coming and invite them to remain for the rest of the open house
OPEN HOUSE
Open House portion will be free-form. Attendees can visit with staff and consultants and ask questions on
various topics. Flip charts to record comments, comment forms and a drop box for comments will be available.
We expect to provide the following stations/boards:
Welcome/General Information
Entry station where attendees can sign in and pick up general SMP information handouts and comment
forms. Handouts would help indicate how the SMP and critical areas are connected and include an
anticipated timeline to adoption.
Shoreline Master Program Periodic Update
1. Display board with Periodic Update basics
2. Display board showing overall map of shoreline jurisdiction and environment designations.
3. Display board with summary of potential key issues identified in the gap analysis
4. Flip charts available to record comments
