B. Grant Funding for Transportation Improvement Projects – “Safe Routes to Schools, and
Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Program
Senior Traffic Engineer Maryanne Zukowski presented information on this item. There was
no public comment. Councilmember Burbidge asked if all three measures being proposed in
the pedestrian and bicycle safety program grant were for both locations. Ms. Zukowski
responded that at 21st Ave SW at SW 336th St, there will be counter measures for pedestrian
collisions caused by right turns on red. At 21st Ave SW between SW 338th and SW 339th St,
the counter measures address pedestrian collisions within the mid-block crosswalk.
