request to block all wall and roof panel edges. PNE does not require the panel edges of
thr roof diaphragm to be blocked. We do require the panel edges at shearwalls to be
blocked per the Shearwall Schedule on sheet S-0.

Mr. Budnick,
Pacific Northwest Engineering Inc. (PNE) as requested has reviewed the Second Floor
Framing at the back of the addition where a double 1 -joist was installed in lieu of the
4x12 beam specified on the plans (SF3). We have found that this substitution is
acceptable. Provide mechanical attachment of double I joist to support beam (M1).
We have also reviewed the two cantilevered beams at the roof framing where 4x12 beams
were installed in lieu of the 6xl2s specified on the plans (RI & R2). In order to carry the
required loads an additional 2x12 HF#2 joist will be required to be attached to the 4x12s.
Attach 2xl2s to beam with 16d nails @ 6" O.C. staggered.
