Dear Mr. Schaeffer,
The Public Works Department has reviewed the site plan associated with the above -referenced permit.
Prior to our approval, please address the following items:
1) Rotate the site plan so that north is oriented correctly.
2) The drawing does not scale at I"=20' as indicated, nor does it seem to scale at any `typical'
engineering scale. Please revise the drawing so that it is scalable at a typical engineering scale.
3) Due to the underlying lot line (see enclosed copy of Assessor's map), you must apply for a City
Lot Line Elimination (LLE) process. Please refer to the enclosed documents for information on
the LLE process, and complete and return the enclosed LLE information sheet, so that we can
process the LLE. The application fee for the LLE is $192.50. There will also be a fee to record
the LLE at King County. The recording fee will be calculated at the time the LLE is complete.
4) It appears that the new roof downspouts are proposed to be tied into an existing tightline system.
The City has no issue with this proposal, however, it should be noted that the owner and/or
contractor is responsible for verifying that this tightline system exists. If it doesn't exist, the
owner or contractor will bear the responsibility of providing an alternate means of handling the
roof runoff.
5) Federal Way Revised Code (FWRC) Section 11.05.120 Service connections, states "Service
connections are facilities extending from a distribution system and terminating on private
property to serve a customer or subscriber. Service connections shall be underground, unless the
distribution system serving the customer or subscriber is aerial, and the building, structure or
facility to be served is new construction or an addition, alteration, or repair thereto is under
$20,000 in value. " Based on the project valuation, the existing overhead utility connections shall
be re -located underground as part of this permit.

6) The new concrete driveway shall be connected to the edge of SW 293rd St with an asphalt apron.
A City Right of Way permit is required for this connection. Contact Kathleen Mathena, Street
Systems Engineering Technician at (253) 835-2725 for information on the Right of Way permit
requirements.
Please revise the site plan and provide the additional information as requested. Be advised that other City
departments are reviewing your permit and additional comments may be forthcoming.
