Ms. Boudreau,
Pacific Northwest Engineering Inc. (PNE) as requested has reviewed the condition where
the foundation was poured per plan L2-3431, but the roof and lumber package used was
for plan L2B-3431. We have found that all headers and beams are adequate as installed.
The only required change is at the bearing where the girder truss load from the roof and
the reaction from beam SF8 meet at the second floor framing. Temporarily support
structure (per contractor) and remove the installed 6x6 post. Install a 5-1/8"x7-1/2" Glu -
Lam column. Break the sill plate at the foundation, and bear the post directly on concrete.
Wrap, protect or treat post as required. Field measurements indicate a Y-8" wide x 12"
deep continuous footing was provided at the post bearing, so there is no required
modification to the foundation. Please see the attached partial plans for location of
required modification.
