NOTICE OF FLOOD HAZARD AREAS PERMIT APPLICATION APPLICATION SUBMITTAL: February 15, 2021 APPLICATION COMPLETE: February 15, 2021 NOTICE OF APPLICATION: March 24, 2021 COMMENT DUE DATE: April 8, 2021 PROPOSAL: The City of Des Moines completed maintenance dredging at the entrance channel to the marina in 2020. As part of compensatory mitigation, proposed activities include on-site removal of 28 creosote-treated timber piles and replacement of a limited number of the removed creosote- treated timber piles with steel piles. The marina is within the AE flood zone with a Base Flood Elevation of 13 feet. A Flood Hazard Areas permit is required pursuant to chapter 18.16 RCW, chapter 173-158 WAC, and chapter 16.15 DMMC.
