The proposal also involves repairs to the existing building after the demolition of the existing canopy, which was demolished after it was damaged by vehicle impact. This involves repairs to the existing facade and windows. The scope of the proposal includes the construction of a free-standing,non-combustible steel canopy that is 13 feet, 6 inches in height. Based on the City's review,the Process I application for the proposed drive up canopy.is approved. A building permit has already been submitted and is currently under review by the City. This decision shall not waive compliance with future City of Federal Way codes, policies, and standards relating to this project site. The effective date of decision is April 5, 2007, or three days from the date of this letter. Pursuant to FWCC Section 22-355(a),any person who received notice of the administrative decision may appeal this decision to the Federal Way Hearing Examiner by April 19, 2007 (14 days from the effective date of decision). In that you are the only party of record,you may waive your right to appeal by submitting a letter to this effect to the City of Federal Way, Department of Community Development Services. If you waive your right to appeal, you may begin work once you have obtained the necessary building permit approvals. The scope of the subject project includes construction of a free-standing non- combustible steel canopy, 788 SF in area, and 13'-6" in height. Also included are repairs to the existing facade and windows. Construction systems consist of cast-in-place concrete foundations with concrete curbs and steel bollards; tubular steel columns in four locations; steel wide-flange girders with moment-resisting connections; steel trusses and decking; and membrane roofmg with an earthquake joint at the existing building wall. The building and the existing drive-up banking window will remain open during normal business hours throughout construction.
