Steel lake park
I read that the council is considering changing the parts of steel lake park south of 312th
into a maintenance facility. I cannot advocate against this strongly enough. The soccer
field is regularly in use by various leagues and our rec softball/baseball league depends
on low cost fields like these to continue offering sports opportunities to families who
can't afford the the higher cost competitive teams. A lot of schools are choosing not to
maintain their fields or are removing them in favor of lower maintenance playgrounds so
we are losing those options too. Please keep these fields open and playable. Thank you.
