Comment Topic: Steel Lake Park/Maintenance Facility

I have lived and owned a house in Federal Way for 34 years. When my husband and I
moved here, we expected Federal Way to only get better. Now I learn that the city is
considering taking precious park property at Steel Lake and turning it into a maintenance
facility. This is sadly short-sighted. Federal Way needs to leave park property as a park
and purchase other property for industrial use. The city of Federal Way is growing and
needs a larger maintenance facility. But isn't it also true that the city is growing, and
therefore needs more park space? More people need more space to recreate. Please
take Steel Lake Park out of consideration as a maintenance facility.
