Background
The State Legislature created RCW 7.105, a new chapter,
which consolidated all the laws regarding protection orders
into one new chapter. Substance of crimes did not change.
Changes became effective julyl,2022.
This housekeeping ordinance adopts the recent changes to
protection orders and corrects references made in the
FWRC. Also, explicitly states City's intent to assume
jurisdiction over crimes prospectively.
Potential jurisdictional issue, so the ordinance is drafted as
an emergency action to take immediate effect.
