COMMISSION BUSINESS
Project Prioritization Matrix
The projects with the highest priority were placed on the matrix. Some of the projects were not on there
because there is a lack of funding for those projects. Staff Gerwen distributed the project prioritization matrix
and requested that the commission score the projects on the matrix and return it to him no later than April 28th.
Staff Gerwen reminded the commission to be consistent with their scoring.
Parks Appreciation Day
Staff Gerwen reported that Parks Appreciation Day is scheduled for April 23 from 9:00am-12:00pm. There
have not been very many pre-registrations for the event. Parking will be limited and people will be directed to
park at the Park n’ Ride. Sponsors included Frito’s, Trader Joe’s, Costco and Sub Zero Ice Cream. They will
be working at two sites: West Hylebos Wetlands Park and the Blueberry Farm. Projects at West Hylebos will
include pruning the orchards, spreading quarry sand and pruning back the trail. Projects at the Blueberry Farm
will include pulling weeds, filling potholes, spreading bark, fertilizing the blueberry’s and general cleanup of
the site. We Love Our City has purchased a 1948 tractor for the site. They will create a gravel pad for the
tractor. Park Maintenance staff has been busy preparing the tractor for the site.
