CALL TO ORDER: Committee Chair Tran called the meeting to order at 5:01 pm.
COMMITTEE MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE: Chair Tran, Councilmember Norton and
Councilmember Dovey.

A. Approval of Summary Minutes —July 26, 2022 Meeting
Motion to approve the July 26, 2022 minutes as written.

B. City of Federal Way Regional Labor Study: Presented by Dr. Ali Modarres with University of
Washington, Tacoma.
Dr. Ali Modarres presented a workforce analysis within the City of Federal Way: providing
population and job trends, job growth with National average, industry growth/decline,
median hourly wage with job growth, earning per worker with gross regional product, top
growing industries, education requirement, minimum experience requirement, top
occupations, top industries and top specialized skills.
Discussion only, no action taken.
C. Ordinance: Establishing an Urban Forestry Fund: Presented by Planning Manager Keith
N iven.
Planning Manager Keith Niven requested the creation of a designated urban forestry fund
to account for payments, paid by developers in lieu of replacing trees, to be segregated from
other revenue, restricted for replacement trees elsewhere in the city.

D. Generator Maintenance Repair State Contract: Presented by Community Relations
Liaison/Contract Administrator Autumn Gressett.
Community Relations Liaison/Contract Administrator Autumn Gressett presented extending
the current contract using WA State Master Contract for purchase maintenance and repair
services from Pacific Power Group, LLC of $209,999.99.
