Dear Mr. Mayzlin:
The city has completed an administrative review of the request to allow geotechnical exploratory work for a
future subdivision. The applicant proposes to excavate a potential of eight test pits of parcels 042104-9221
and 042104-9012. No work will be done within the stream and/or wetland and their associate buffers.
The location of the test hole is within a Geologically Hazardous Area (GHA), subject to review under Federal
Way Revised Code(FWRC) Chapter 19.145, "Environmentally Critical Areas."Per FWRC 19.145.120(2), site
reconnaissance necessary for preparing land use applications are partially exempt from this chapter and
require written approval from the director.This request is hereby approved with a condition.
CONDITION
• Any disturbance of the critical area shall be the minimum necessary to conduct the site
reconnaissance and the area shall be restored to its previous condition immediately.
