I'm filling in for one of my staff that's on vacation so I didn't have all the background you just provided—that is very helpful. 1. Since we approved the landscaping for the other two signs, I will accept that it's also approved for this one. 1 . 2., From what I can tell, it does not appear the other two signs impact the drive isle dimensions.They do eliminate several parking spaces, but that is not an issue as the entire mall is over-parked. James, could you address this issue?Are you planning on re-striping the drive isles and parking in the vicinity of this sign? If so when would this work be completed? It would need to be completed prior to final inspection. 3. The attached approval from BPA is acceptable. So the only outstanding issue is item 2 above. Once we get that addressed we can process the permit and get you going. We provided a landscaping plan for all three signs(two of which are installed) quite a while back. In regards to the drive isle concern, Steadfast is going to be restriping as needed, and will be doing the same for the signs along 320th and Pac HWY. We did not have to provide these details for the other two signs, so I just want to make sure it is still necessary. Item 3. We had also submitted an approval from BPA a while back,which I have also attached... Will this be acceptable? I'm contacting you with regard to the above referenced sign permit application for installation of a pylon sign at the Commons mall in Federal Way(on the 324th Street side). I've reviewed your application and it is in compliance with regard to code requirements for setback, height and size. I've identified the following issues that need to be addressed. 1. The landscaping area is adequate in size, but there's no detail provided as to what type of landscaping is proposed. Please provide a drawing showing details or describe how the area will be improved. 2. At its proposed location the sign is substantially intruding into the drive isle, reducing the isle below the required dimension (of 18-feet) and impacting the usability of nearby parking spaces.This issue needs to be addressed. Consider adjusting the location or size of the sign/landscaping island to resolve the issue. 3. The sign is located within the BPA Power Transmission Easement. BPA limits the height of structures within the easement. Please provide documentation from BPA that the proposed sign is in compliance with their height standards. Please provide a resubmittal that addresses these issues (include attached resubmittal form and two copies of resubmittal items.
