Should an ordinance be adopted amending
8.40.030 and adding new Chapter 8.43
establishing weight and load restrictions within
the City?
Background Information
The City has experienced a marked increase in
oversized and overweight loads in recent years.

Background Information
• The City desires a cooperative effort with the
haulers to minimize wear and damage to City
streets and infrastructure.
• Through permitting the City can assess the risk
and if any damaged is found then establish the
legally responsible party.
Mayors Recommendation
• Amend 8.40.030 and adopt Chapter 8.43
Weight and Load Regulations.
LUTC Recommendation
• Forward for first reading to amend 8.40.030
and adopt Chapter 8.43 Weight and Load
Regulations.
