Hi George,
Your request for Preapplication meeting waiver has been approved. Per Federal Way Revised Code 19.40.030(2)(a), due to the simple
nature of the proposal, and because the site has previously undergone a preapplication conference and site plan review for a similar
development proposal, your request for waiver of the required preapplication conference is hereby approved. Please be advised that
this waiver of preapplication review may increase the risk of the application being incomplete or that the processing time will be
increased.
It is best to schedule an intake appointment with the permit center by email. The best times for intake are Tuesday, Thursday, and
Friday mornings around 8:15 -8:30. Just let them know you need to schedule intake for a Process II I and SEPA review. Contact the
permit center at permitcenter cityoffederalway, com or by phone at 253-835-2607.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hi Rebecca,
The AT&T WA415 project (12-101877-00-UP) received approval this week, and I am now preparing the UPIII+SEPA(DNS)
Zoning package for the WA696 project. WA696 (Saghalie Park) is the project where AT&T is going to modify their
existing PWSF as recommended by the City.
I see that a pre -application meeting is required, but I would request a pre -application meeting waiver under: FWRC
19.40.030(2)(iii) The site has previously undergone pre -application, site plan or other land use review for the same or
similar development proposal and it is unlikely further pre -application review will provide any benefit to the city or
applicant;
I also see that I need to schedule my intake appointment. Are there particular days that work best for your team?
Thanks again,
-George

Hi George,
No changes to the review process.
The WA696 NE Tacoma site will still go through Process III review for increased height.
and
WA415 Tammy Lane will still be reviewed under Process I.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Becky,
I can add the other site, WA415 Tammy Lane, to the same issue. I just learned that monopole will fail with any new
added equipment and will require replacement or upgrade.
Does replacing this monopole, or upgrading it change the Process I land use process?

Thank you for breaking out those fees for me.
I just learned the WA696 monopole will fail with our proposed design loading. We need to swap out the pole, for an 8'
taller pole, and reattach the ball field lights and PWSF. Would this change the Land Use process? At the end of the day
it would still be the same height as our original proposal.
Just want to make sure before I order the Process III checks.

Hi George,
I have attached the city's 2012 fee schedule, land use fees start in section 8, page 8. The fee schedule is a bit confusing so I also
attached a cheat sheet for SEPA, UPIII and UPI land use fees. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Also, when you are ready to submit the UPIII and SEPA application, you will need to make an appointment with our permit center so
they have time to intake the applications. Appointments are scheduled for early momings; you can contact the permit center staff at
253-835-2607 to set up an appointment.
Thanks,

RE: AT&T Project - Preapp Waiver
Just approve it by email and place a copy in the AD file, and we should remember to place a copy in the UP file when
submitted.

Subject: AT&T Project - Preapp Waiver
Hi Isaac,
I received this request for pre-app waiver. I recently sent Mr. Pierce an AD letter outlining the process III & SEPA review required for
the PWSF site. I don't believe a preapp will be necessary. I'm not sure what the next steps are. Should I submit this email to permit
center for formal waiver submittal? Or can we just approve it via email?
Thanks,
Becky C.
