Your request is hereby approved. Analysis Federal Way Revised Code (FWRC) 19.120.130 (2) Tree density requirements. Per FWRC 19.120.130 (2), the site must retain the minimum tree unit density required within the site's zoning designation. The zoning of the Cedardale Apartments is Multifamily Residential (RM) and the city's tree retention standards require properties zoned RM maintain a minimum density of 30 tree units per acre. The Cedardale Apartments' site is 6.92 acres requiring 208 tree units (30 tree units x 6.92 acres). After reviewing both the tree inventory report submitted by the applicant and aerial photographs of the site, staff has determined that the property hosts approximately three times the amount of tree units as required and the proposed removal of 11 hazardous trees will not impact the property's ability to maintain minimum tree -unit density.
