RE: FILE #10-100531-00-AD; AUTHORIZATION TO REMOVE INVASIVE VEGETATION
Ruvalcaba, Parcel 515320-0070, Federal Way
Dear Mr. Ruvalcaba:
The Department of Community Development Services has received your request to remove Himalayan
Blackberries from your property located on Marine View Drive near the intersection of 12r'' Avenue SW
(parcel 515320-0070). The city's critical area database shows no environmentally sensitive areas on or
near the subject property.
Pursuant to authority granted by Federal Way Revised Code (FWRC) 19.120.030(12), you are hereby
authorized to remove the Himalayan Blackberries from your property.
The city recommends utilizing erosion control measures such as hydroseeding and/or fiber matting for
any exposed soils following the vegetation removal. Please be advised that it is a violation of FWRC to
create, allow, or perpetuate conditions that cause the erosion or undermining of adjacent property. It is
also a violation of FWRC to create, allow, or perpetuate a condition that causes the deposition of
sediments or the movement of other geologic materials onto adjacent property.
If you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact Matthew Herrera, Associate Planner at 253-
835-2638 or matt.herrera@cityoffederalway.com.
Sincerely,
Greg Fewins, Director
