Hi Steve,
If I understand correctly, the proposal is to utilize the existing tenant space for a dialysis treatment facility. 1 assume this
is an outpatient type facility. r
Short answer is the Community Business zoning district allows medical office/clinic type uses outright.
Because this is a change -of -use from the previous retail use of the building we will do a zoning compliance review for the
new use (where we evaluate issues such as adequacy of parking, etc. for the new use). The fee for this review is $148
and the review will take place in conjunction with your building permit application (I'm assuming you will need to make
some alterations internally that will require a permit) or if no permit is required the review will take place in conjunction
with your business license application. I've taken a quick look at the zoning criteria and I don't see any issues.
Also, because the medical clinic is a new occupancy under the building code there may be some issues that need to be
addressed in terms of exiting and other life -safety issues. I recommend you speak with Scott Sproul in the city's Building
Division to get an understanding of those issues. He's copied on this email and his number is 253 835 2633.
I've attached the business license application form. The fee is $75.
