20-102529-Project Narrative-06-26-2020-V1Attachment A We are looking to cut down some trees on our property here in Federal Way. We own two adjacent parcels (34834 Weyerhaeuser Way and 3455 S 344th Way) and both are heavily wooded. The primary reason for cutting trees at our 34834 location is to thin out the trees in our parking lot in order to better improve visibility in and around the lot for security purposes. Over the years, the trees have grown to the extent that they are obscuring many of the parking lot lights which poses a problem for our security officers when they are monitoring via camera or doing patrols. Additionally, we’ve had homeless camps and people dumping garbage on the edges of our property over the years and we hope that by thinning out the unnecessary trees, we can improve visibility for the security officers and further deter such behavior in the future. As for our 3455 location, our plan is twofold: thin out the trees somewhat to improve visibility for security’s sake (we’ve had many homeless camps pop up here as well) but also to generate any possible positive income for World Vision. Annual revenue has been greatly affected by the Covid-19 situation, as many businesses have experienced, and we’re looking for any way to recoup some of that (most of the profitable trees we have are on this property).
