AESI was on site at the request of the contractor to perform footing observations on the prepared su bgrade of lot 38. AESI was onsite from 2 :30PM
-3:lSPM.

-At the time of arrival, AESI met with Jimmy of Rock River Excavating, who indicated the prepared lot. The contractor had completed the subgrade
preparation by cutting into native subgrade and performing over excavation, replaced the over excavated material with 2-4" quarry spalls, set up
their forming boards and rebar. The lot contains no steps and was cut 0-3' into native material.
The over excavated area was located along most of the north footing for lot 38, It is -s' wide and excavated In a wedge shape, N6" thick on the
west side and -1.S' thick on the east side. The contractor reported the over excavation was done to remove soft subgrade. Utilizing a W diameter
steel soil probe under the full weight of the user, AESI probed through the 2-4" quarry spalls, observed the underlying subgrade and found it to
probe to no more than l.S". A picture of the quarry spalls can be found In flgure 1.
Utilizing the probe AESI observed the remainder of the footing subgrade and found it to probe on average -2" and no more than 3", suitable for
1500 p.s.f. in our opinion. AESI observed water on the subgrade, in our opinion this water will be displaced by concrete placement and does not
need to be pumped offthesubgrade.
