Public Hearing Notice - Park Impact Fee Code Amendment - 4-28-23 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Title 19 Zoning Code Amendments for Park Impact Fee (Non-Project Action) File #23-100953-UP & 23-100951-SE The City of Federal Way City Council will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. The public hearing will be held during the City Council regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers located at 33325 8th Ave South, Federal Way, WA 98003. The hearing is for the following proposal: Name: Zoning code amendments, to Federal Way Revised Code Title 19 Zoning and Development Code, including establishment of a Park Impact Fee zoning code chapter related to adoption of a Federal Way Park Impact Fee. Description: The City of Federal Way Parks Department is requesting to establish a Park Impact Fee based on eligible costs of existing park assets, planned parks projects and the city’s expected growth. The impact fee would help fund parks projects. This would require updates to Title 19 of Federal Way Revised Code, zoning and development code, including establishment of a Park Impact Fees chapter. Applicant: City of Federal Way Parks and Recreation Department Location: Citywide Comments: Any person may participate in the public hearing by submitting written comments to the City Council either by delivering written comments to the City Clerk before the hearing at ck@cityoffederalway.com, via the Planning staff contact below, or by appearing at the hearing and presenting public testimony in person, or through a representative. Existing Environmental Documents: A SEPA Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) pursuant to the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) for the proposal was issued on February 24, 2023.
