PUBLIC COMMENT: None 3. COMMITTEE BUSINESS: Topic Title/Description A. Approval of Minutes: March 14, 2023 Committee approved the March 14, 2023 PRHSPSC minutes with the corrections. ● Moved: Assefa-Dawson ● Seconded: Norton ● Passed: 3-0 unanimously B. Fiscal Year 2022 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program – Grant Award Acceptance MOU: Presented by Civilian Operations Manager Diane Shines Civilian Operations Manager Diane Shines presented the Fiscal Year 2022 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program – Grant Award Acceptance MOU. The Federal Way Police Department was allocated a project award of $38,387 by the Jag Program. Acceptance of the grant requires no matching funds and minimal impact to the City funds. Funds will be used to purchase equipment used by the bomb disposal unit. Funds will also be used for Safe City Camera upgrades. Questions and discussion followed. Motion to forward the proposed Fiscal Year 2022 JAG Grant Award Acceptance MOU and funds to the April 18, 2023 consent agenda for approval. Report on PAEC Operations: Presented by General Manager Oakview Group Brian Hoffman General Manager Brian Hoffman’s presentation included the 2022 End of Year Highlights, events that were held in February 2023 and meetings that General Manager Brian Hoffman attended. He also reported on vandalism that is occurring on the property and maintenance occurring at the facility. General Manager Brian Hoffman also provided financial information comparing February 2022 vs February 2023. They also hired the Arts for Youth Coordinator. Questions and discussion followed. D. 2023 Diversity Commission Work Plan: Presented by Human Services Manager Sarah Bridgeford. Human Services Manager Sarah Bridgeford presented the 2023 Diversity Commission Work Plan. The work plan consists of projects that are divided into one-time work in 2023, ongoing and annual. The work falls into community listening and engagement, co-creation of an equity tool with staff, and a variety of community events. Questions and discussion followed.
