Description of Proposed Work & Equipment Involved:
This project proposes to preserve roadway sections that will likely fail before paving projects can be programmed, by
crack sealing, and by grinding and inlaying the worst sections in wheel paths. All work is limited to the existing paved
area.
This project will involve crack sealing which is a movable operation and moves at a slow speed with people walking
alongside slow moving equipment to seal any cracks. Construction equipment will include hot pots, compressors, light
plants, trucks, grinders, pavers, rollers, equipment for traffic control, and miscellaneous hand tools.
Names & phone numbers of TWO contacts that will be available during proposed work hours:
1) Shane Spahr, P.E. (360) 848 - 7103
2) Akberet Ghebreghzabiher (206) 440 - 4547
Reason proposed work must be completed outside of regular work hours: _
WSDOT traffic recommends that lane closures be done at night when traffic volumes are low to mitigate the danger to
workers and the traveling public. Construction related lane closures during the daytime could also cause delays to the
traveling public by backing traffic on the highways and city arterials, and impacting bus routes and business accesses,
performing work at night will mitigate the danger to workers and the traveling public, and will also minimize traffic
delays. Therefore, night time lane closures are necessary to perform the work safely and mitigate impacts to the
travelling public.

Provide a brief explanation why the work will not be detrimental to nearby properties:
Anytime road closure occurs, it would worsen the current traffic congestion in the project area which may be residential,
commercial and other institutes such as schools. In regards to the noise impacts from the project to residential ,we
anticipate that the contractor will not spend more than two nights performing the same type of work.
