SUBGRADE SOILS AND THE PRESENCE OF GROUNDWATER. THESE TWENTY
TEST HOLES SHALL BE DISTRIBUTED EVENLY OVER THE ENTIRE AREAS OF
PROPOSED LANDSCAPING TO DEMONSTRATE THE SUBSOIL CONDITIONS
THRUOUT THE SITE. SUBMIT FINDINGS TO THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
PRIOR TO MOBILIZING/PURCHASING ANY PLANTS.

LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION NOTES.
1. Installer shall contract with a Line Locators Contractor and paint the ground with
ALL traceable existing utilities prior to any work Installer shall clearly maintain
all paint for the entire course of the project: Contractors and Line Locators
Contractor shall snake all possible efforts to research and then field paint ALL
traceable existinglnew, utilities.
Z. Installer shall comply and conform to any and all local and state codes for work,
schedule of project completion and any other project related requirements
3. Installer shall communicate directly with the Landscape Architect for any and all
conflicts with site conditions or plan coordination or construction phase site visits
or final acceptance walkthrus The Landscape Architect must be phoned requesting
a site visit to view any adverse site conditions or for any site visits
4. Installers scope of work shall include any/all specified and unspecified but related
incidental work to achieve the work shown on the plans All labor, materials,
subcontractors, equipment, and related incidental items shall be supplied and
installed to achieve a complete project All installed work shall be maintained until
the project is fully accepted by the Landscape Architect
S. Should any differences exist between the actual site conditions and the plans, the
Landscape Architect shall immediately be contacted for a site visit by phone. The
conditions will be viewed and directives issued by the Owner/Landscape Architect:
b Installer shall field layout all work according to the plans and all work is subject to
field adjustments by the Landscape Architect The field adjustments are to be made
at no additional cost to the project, if the field adjustments do not increase the
materials amounts or increase the hours of installing labor or require additional
equipment to be mobilized
7. Installer shall immediately bring to the attention of the Landscape Architect any
clay soils/water holding type conditions. It is the installer's responsibility to create a
positive draining site for all proposed work. Installer shall assure that no water
collects on any paving, and against building foundations. If areas of clay
soils/water holding type conditions are discovered, no work shall begin until the
Landscape Architect has field viewed the conditions and has recommended a
possible solution.
8. Topsoillsubgrade preparation: Areas of proposed planting areas shall be stripped
of any existing grasses/weedslplanWmulclies/soils. All plants to be removed shall
have all canopiesltrunks/root systems completely removed off of site. Maul off site
all stripped materials Remove from all plant beds rocks of I inch and larger, any
clay type soils, construction debris and any other items considered harmful to plant
life. In plant beds the top of the subgrade soils shall be (8) eight inches down from
the tops of all adjacent pavinglwalks/curbs/wallsletc... Manufactured imported
topsoil shall be `Professional Growers Blend' as manufactured by Lloyd
Enterprises or prior approved equal. These topsoils shall be installed in all plant
pits and as a (6) six inch compacted `layer' in all plant bed areas.
4 Installer shall provide a one year warranty of all workmanship and materials to the
project Owner. Installer shall provide this warranty in writing to the Owner.
Provide a copy of the letter to the Landscape Architect. The one year warranty shall
begin on the date of'the final acceptance of all installed work. Maintain all
plantingsfinstalled site conditions until the work is completgp accepted by the
Landscape Architect.
10 At the date of the one year anniversary of the Final Acceptance, the installer shall
contact the Landscape Architect for a site meeting to view the work.
11. Submittals to be provided to the Landscape Architect from the installers shall be for
the following items: a,) manufactured imported topsoil, bj fertilizers, c.) mulch, d)
tree stakes Submittals compose of product samples (2 lb. Of each item a), and c ))
and the written literature describing the products These submittals shall be
provided for review and continent prior to ally products being mobilized
1Z No substitutions are allowed unless provided in writing by the Landscape Architect.
13. Mulch application: All plant beds shall receive a 2 inch compacted depth of
medium grind bark mulch, from a local source- Top of mulch shall be flush to the
tops of all pavinglwalkslcurbslwallsletc...
14. All plant pits (trees, shrubs and groundcovers) shall be dug to be two times the
plants rootball width and twice the plants rootball depth. Fill the entire plant pit
with the above specified manufactured imported topsoil.
Plant pits dug to any less dimensions will not be accepted All plant pits shall be
tested for positive drainage. Any slow drainage pits will be field directed as to a
solution by the Landscape Architect
15. No plants shall be planted during tunes of freezing weather or when the topsoil is in
a wetlmuddy condition.
16. Fertilize all plants with Agriform brand plant tablets as per the manufacturers

17. Apply a treatment of vitamin B-1 as per the manufacturers recommendations
during the planting phase.
18. Vandalism protection and associated corrections are a part of the scope of work of
the installers
19. Installer is not to prune any new plant materials until field directed by the
Landscape Architect
20. Installer is not to remove any existing trees, shrubs and groundcovers from site
unless directed on the civil plans, architectural site plans or the demolition plans
21. All trees within eight feet of any pavinglcurbinglback of retaining walls shall
receive `Deep Root' root barriers Install root barriers in a circular form around
the tree as per the manufacturer's recommendations with a minimum of ten panels
Root barrier shall be 24" depth materials as manufactured by `Deep Root'. Contact
