RCW42. 12.070(6) This part-time position is at -large, with a monthly salary of $1,468.43. The city contributes an additional $494.19/month to a VEBA Plan kL�4_ health care reimbursement plan). No other benefits are given. ( p ) �k 1P1r(:DQOO2C The appointment process is outlined in Council Rules of Procedure 21.3. • Vacancy of City Council Position No. 2 occurs due to resignation. • Mayor directs the City Clerk to begin the appointment process. • Tentative Interview and Appointment Schedule is provided to the City Council, staff and media • Notice is published on the city website; distributed per Council Rules 21.3(e) including providing notice to all the city's volunteer Boards and Commissions. • Notice of Vacancy is published in the official city newspaper (Federal Way Mirror) for two (2) consecutive weeks. I10(l)(h) • Failure to Appoint: Should the councilmembers fail to appoint a qualified candidate within 90-days from the date of resignation, the responsibility of appointment will fall to King County. RCW42. 72.070(4) • Tie -Breaking Authority: In the case of a tie -vote, the mayor is authorized to cast a ballot to break the tie. (respect to matters other than the passage of any ordinance, grant, or revocation of franchise or license, or any resolution for the payment of money.)
