GENERAL NOTES:
1. ALL WORK SHALL CONFORM TO REQUIREMENTS OF THE 2006 INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE (IBC),
STATE BUILDING CODE, AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE CODES AS ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY.
2. THE SYMBOLS AND ABBREVIATIONS USED ON THE DRAWINGS ARE CONSIDERED TO BE CONSTRUCTION

APPROVED DRAWINGS, ANY PENETRATIONS AT THE FIRE RESISTIVE ASSEMBLIES SHALL BE SEALED WITH
UL APPROVED FIRE STOPPING. SUBMIT METHOD OF FIRE STOPPING, IF REQUIRED, TO BUILDING
INSPECTOR FOR APPROVAL.
9. MODIFICATIONS OF EXISTING FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SHALL BE BIDDER/DESIGN. FURNISH & INSTALL AN
APPROVED FIRE ALARM SYSTEM, COORDINATE WIIH OWNER, FIRE MARSHAL, & ELECTRICAL
CONTRACTOP,
10. FURNISH AND INSTALL EMERGENCY LIGHTING. IN NO CASE SHALL THE LIGHTING LEVEL BE LESS
THAN ONE FOOT-CANDLE AT FLOOR LEVEL IN ALL HALLWAYS.
11. ALL EXIT SIGNS SHALL HAVE 6" HIGH LETTERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL CODES OR SHALL
CONFORM TO IBC REQUIREMENTS. LUMINANCE ON SIGN SHALL BE 50 LUX. ILLUMINATED EXIT SIGNS
SHALL HAVE DESERVE POWER.
12. ALL DOOR SIZES SHOWN ON THE DOOR SCHEDULE OR ON PLANS ARE OPENING SIZES. ALLOWANCE
FOR THRESHOLDS AND OTHER HADWARE SHALL BE MADE PRIOR TO DOOR FABRICATION AND
