DECISION
Pursuant to your recommendation as City of Federal Way Parks & Facilities Manager, the Community
Development Department hereby authorizes the removal of the above -mentioned trees due to the
potentially hazardous condition and location of the trees. Your request identifies that two new trees will
be planted at the site.

This administrative decision shall not waive compliance with future City of Federal Way codes, policies,

Subject: Tree removal request
I am requesting to remove two large alder trees on City property adjacent to the
Cerna residence; located at 32416 2nd Ave SW. The largest Alder has significant
phototrophic lean and has the Cerna, house and deck as a target. The second
alder is leaning away from the house but has some included bark and has the
potential of failing. Due to the large size and potential target I am recommending
removal of these alder tree. The Cerna family has agreed to replant and water
two (2) new weeping Alaskan cedars until established.
