Certified Arborist #PN1942A Subject: Tree removal request I notified Thundering Oak to perform an assessment of a City greenbelt behind and adjacent homeowner to the Lindenauer residence; located at 32701 5th Ave. SW. While inspecting the greenbelt he noticed a cottonwood that we have been monitoring behind the Lindenauer's. Bryce reports that it is leaning more than the last inspection. Due to the large size and potential target we are recommending removal of this cottonwood tree ASAP. Please see attached assessment of which I am in agreement and seek permission to handle the tree as recommended by Bryce Landrud a Certified Arborist contracted with the City. mayi rnA 50 MOW& P.O. MMIMIM Steve Ikerd Federal Way Par] Hi Steve, I was at the Matlick residence recently and noticed the remaining cottonwood next to the fence behind the above property (2/2012 work performed). This cottonwood (22" diameter), though free of ivy, now appears to be leaning significantly to the south, over the fence, back yard and even roof. I'm pretty certain this was not the case two years ago - and examination of the roo-1 zone looks as though it may be lifting. Literally anything that falls from this tree will land on the Lindenauer property; I believe it would be most prudent to remove it. - I P- LW-39491MMM M Isaac Conlen To: Steve Ikerd Subject: RE: Tree issue N I've read the report and agree with the recommendation to remove the tree. Given the potential for imminent harm consider this email an approval to remove the tree. We will follow up with a written approval letter. M.
