With this letter, formal registration of the accessory dwelling unit at the above referenced address is hereby established. In addition, this registration hereby exempts the accessory dwelling unit from school impact fees required under City Ordinance #95-249. Please be advised that the registration in no way constitutes city approval of an existing accessory dwelling unit unless it has been approved through a formal land use process. Accessory dwelling units are reviewed through processes identified in Federal Way City Code (FWCC) Section 22- 965. An Accessory Dwelling Unit handout, application form and applicable code sections are enclosed. In order to have your accessory dwelling unit reviewed by the City; please provide the following. • Completed ADU application with plan and site drawings • $100 filing fee (this fees is waived if you provide documentation that the ADU was permitted under King County) • Water and Sewer Certificates from Lakehaven Utility District King County Health Department approval for the ADU if on a septic system ADU applications are reviewed by staff to ensure that the ADU meets the zoning code requirements for a dwelling unit. Please be advised that ADU's are subject to the standards of FWCC Section 22-613 and 22-648.
