Analysis Pursuant to Federal Way Revised Code(FWRC) 19.125.060(8)(A), Type III landscaping 10 feet in width shall be provided along all property lines abutting public rights-of-way and access easements. Removal of the tree without replacement would place the property into a status of nonconformance. In the past windstorm at the end of August,they had a Sweetgum Tree/Liquidambar styraciflua have the top leader break out of it and it has become a moderate hazard to the users in the adjacent parking lot and potentially to the users of the sidewalk below and adjacent street,9th Ave. Please see attached Request for Administrative Decision for removal. Should I need to provide anything further please let me know. Brief Basic Limited Visual Assessment Tree 1-Sweetgum Tree/Liquidambar styraciflua (Photos 1&2) Tree recently lost one of its co-dominant leaders leaving an exposure wound roughly 18"tall x 14"wide x 3"-6"deep into the core of the heartwood. Client would prefer to not have to replace this if needed/allowed as surrounding is heavily tree populated. I appreciate your time and look forward to your responses.
