Prior to approving the single-family building permit, the following must be addressed: 1.) Please revise the driveway footprint to conform with .Federal Way Revised Cade a7WRC) chapter 19.130.240, "Driveways and parking areas." Exceptions (1)(b) are allowed for driveways to be greater than the standard 20-foot width; however, per note (iii) of the exceptions, a garage must be within 40 feet of the front property line to meet this exception. Please reduce the driveway width to 20 feet where the driveway meets the road. You may still have a 30-foot width driveway, but only within 40 feet of the garage. Revise site plans to reflect this change, as well as see annotations on the enclosed site plan. 2.) Please identify existing trees on site plan, and designate which trees are to be removed and retained (six trees) as identified in your provided "Calculating Tree Units" handout. For trees to remain, please include a tree protection plan per FWRC 19.120.160, "Tree and vegetation protection during construction," while also identifying the areas of fencing surrounding these trees. Please note that other city departments are reviewing your permit, and other comments may follow. Please revise the submitted plans by adding the requested information and resubmit (with a completed enclosed Resubmittal Information form) three copies of the revised plans through the Permit Center. If you have any questions, please contact me at or (253) 835-2622.
