(206) - 579 - 7562
Reason proposed work must be completed outside of regular work hours: For public and work zone safety, WSDOT
Acoustic and Air Quality requests, with the concurrence of WSDOT Construction Traffic construction night time lane
closures. Partial or full closure of SR 161 during the daytime work would result in worker and motorist safety concerns due to
the reduced work area and travel lane width.
Provide a brief explanation why the work will not be detrimental to nearby properties:
Daytime closures would worsen current traffic congestion at the project location that serves residential, schools, and
commercial business users. In regards to the noise impacts for residents, we anticipate that the contractor will not spend more
than two nights performing the same type of work.
