MEETING MINUTES
Chair Ankit called the meeting to order at 5:00pm.
Present: Ankit Gowda, Aissata Bangoura, Alexandre Milsten, Bryan Aguillar, Juan Juarez, Justin Lowy, Niko
Manjares, Winston Nguyen
Absent: Karis Song (excused), Sienna Mayo (unexcused), Zarah Imani Dennis (excused)
Staff: Kim Ledyard (Community Recreation Coordinator), David Clemons (Dumas Bay Manager), Ashriya Guptar

PUBLIC COMMENT
Ann-Michelle Hart from the Federal Way Public Market presents their plan for bringing a Public Market to Federal
Way. They are already in the process of talking to the City and visiting different City commissions.
COMMISSION BUSINESS
All Commissioners vote to approve the minutes from the previous meeting.
TC-3 Presentation – Chaney Skadsen and Keith Niven
Chaney Skadsen and Keith Niven from the City’s Planning Division shares the TC-3 Redevelopment Plan with the
Youth Commission. Chaney shares that the Mayor requested for the plan to be shared with the Youth
Commission.
NAMI South King County Mental Health Presentation - Robin Hinz
Robin Hinz presents South King County’s NAMI program. NAMI provides advocacy, education, support and public
awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives. It is Robin and NAMI
South King County’s hope that the Youth Commissioners will spread the word about the program throughout their
community and help more people get access to the help that they need.
Movie Night Update
Chair Ankit shares that the Movie Night was postponed. Many of the commissioners will not be with the
commission next year so they have decided to postpone the movie night for the Fall.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 14th at the Federal Way Community Center
