Renewal Process to Date 0 Jan. — Mar. 2023: Petition created by Steel LIVID Advisory Committee • Apr. 3: Presentation of Petition and Resolution of Intent to Reform • Apr. 18: Adoption of Resolution setting public hearing date on the renewal June 6: Public hearing on the renewal of the proposed District — Adoption of Resolution renewing the Steel LIVID and calling for a vote by affected property owners June 7: Ballots sent out to affected property owners to vote on renewal June 27: Voting deadline; votes tabulated with a majority in favor of renewal Renewal Process (continued) • July 10: Ordinance renewing Steel LMD and setting public hearing date on the assessment roll presented to LUTC • July 18: First reading of Ordinance renewing the Steel LMD and setting a public hearing date on the assessment roll • Aug. 8: Second reading and adoption of Ordinance renewing the Steel LMD and setting a public hearing date on the assessment roll for the district • Sept. 19: Public hearing on the proposed assessment roll — Resolution confirming and approving special assessment roll • Oct. 2: Ordinance establishing Time of Payment and Resolution creating LMD advisory committee presented to LUTC Annual Assessments • Assessments are billed annually through the King County Assessor. • All property owners within the established boundary of the LMD pay an assessment based on property type. • Annual revenue allows for continuous funding of short- and long-term lake management activities. Delinquent Assessments • If not paid by the deadline of May 10t" each year, assessments are considered delinquent, and are subject to: — Interest: 1% per month — Penalty: 5% of the assessment • Minimum allowed by RCW 36.61.200 — Automatic lien against property • If left unpaid for more than 3 years, King County may begin foreclosure proceedings for nonpayment.
