INSPECTOR:

INSPECTION OF: Racking Support Fasteners.
GeoTest was on site as requested to inspect the fasteners connecting the racking to the
building's slab and the walls.
The stand-alone racking at the stockroom, the racking at the sales floor's perimeter walls, the
stockroom's interior walls and perimeter walls were inspected.
The racking connections at the cold formed frame walls was found to conform with the project's
drawings. The anchors used at the racking connections at the building's foundation slab were
not the correct anchors (see image 4). The contractor rectified this by adding the correct
anchors.
Drawings referenced were A0.0, A1.5, R43, R57 and 171.0.
Image #1: Perimeter racking
at the sales floor was
connected to a fire treated 2 x
4 furring stud at (3) elevations.
