May 10, 2023
In Attendance: Chair, Councilmember Lydia Assefa-Dawson; Brian Hoffman, PAEC; Kristen Wells, Courtyard

1.Call to Order
Chair Assefa-Dawson called the meeting to order at 10:03am and welcomed everyone.

4.Approval of Minutes
The Chair asked for approval of the April 12, 2023 minutes. Upon a motion duly made/seconded (KC/KW),
the minutes were unanimously approved.
1.New Business
A.TEG Application Presentation & Review Action
a.10:10 AM – Federal Way Harmony Kings – Jim Burbidge
Jim Burbidge presented his application for the 2023 Evergreen District Chorus and Quartet
Contest to the LTAC members. Following the presentation, there was a question and answer
period, Jim Burbidge then left the meeting after his presentation time. The Committee Members
followed with up with a review and discussion of the application.
b.10:20 AM – Miss Washington Volunteer Organization – Nicole Miller
Nicole Miller presented her application for the 2024 Miss Washington Volunteer State Pageant
and Workshop to the LTAC members. Following the presentation, there was a question and
answer period, Nicole Miller then left the meeting after her presentation time. The Committee
Members followed with up with a review and discussion of the application.

Michele Mayberry presented her application for the Northern Classic & Sasquatch Pro to the
LTAC members. Following the presentation, there was a question and answer period, Michele
Mayberry then left the meeting after her presentation time. The Committee Members followed
with up with a review and discussion of the application.
d.10:40 AM – Pacific Raceways – John Ramsey
John Ramsey presented his application for the NHRA Northwest Nationals to the LTAC members.
Following the presentation, there was a question and answer period, John Ramsey then left the
meeting after his presentation time. The Committee Member followed with up with a review
and discussion of the application.
Following Committee review and discussion of all the applications, Chair Assefa-Dawson asked for a
vote on the 2023 Round 2 TEG applications. Upon a motion duly made to approve all the applications
at the full requested amounts and seconded (BH/JM), the committee vote was unanimous.
B.LTAC Budget & Reserve Fund Discussion
C.Sister Cities Trip Report Update
Tanja Carter gave the update for the post trip report. Economic Development made introduction
with business in Korea for business import and possible interest to come to US. LAD looks forward to
continued relationship with our Sister Cities.
2.Old Business
A.Quarterly Lodging Tax Budget / Revenue Report Update -Next report June 2023
B.Request for Proposal for Professional Services -Update Destination Management Consultant - 5 Year Tourism Master Plan
Tanja Carter application in progress and send to committee once complete.
3.LTAC Member Issues Discussion
A.Committee:
BH - Thanks to the committee members for a great healthy discussion to help provide guidance.
RE - Thanks everyone for their thoughts and for good the discussion. Opening Day for the Farmer’s
Market is Sat. May 20th. There will be an IHOP breakfast at 8:30 am.
LAD - Thank you everyone! Committee should look forward to future Economic Development
opportunities to come from TC.
