Criteria for Amending the Comprehensive Plan (1) The proposed amendment bears a substantial relationship to public health, safety, or welfare; (2) The proposed amendment is in the best interest of the residents of the city. (3) The proposed amendment is consistent with the requirements of Chapter 36.70A RCW and with the portion of the city's adopted plan not affected by the amendments • Active Transportation and Physical Health, • Reduced Traffic Congestion and Sustainability, • Social Interaction and Mental Health, • Placemaking and Access to Amenities, and • Economic Opportunities and Well-being • Enhanced Quality of Life, • Reduced Commuting Stress, • Civic Identity and Pride, and • Vibrant Community Spaces: • Land Use G4, P91 P20 • Transportation G3, TP3.11 • Housing G4, HP12, HP 13 Recommendations Planning Commission Recommendation Following Commission discussion and deliberations, the Planning Commission forwarded the proposed amendments to the City Council with a recommendation of approval. Staff Recommendation Staff recommend approving the proposed amendments, as forwarded by the Planning Commission. LUTC Recommendation Following LUTC discussion and deliberations, LUTC forward the proposed amendments to the City Council with a recommendation of approval.
