I.
CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor McColgan called the study session to order at the hour of 6:05 p.m.
Councilmember present: Mayor Dean McColgan, Deputy Mayor Linda Kochmar,
Councilmembers Jeanne Burbidge, Jack Dovey, Eric Faison, Jim Ferrell, and Mike Park.
Staff present: City Manager David Moseley, City Attorney Pat Richardson, and City Clerk Chris
Green.
II.
2005-2006 BIENNIAL BUDGET
City Manager David Moseley gave a brief introduction of the budget process and asked
Management Services Director Iwen Wang to provide additional updates to Council. City Manager
David Moseley also noted there would be a public hearing held on June 29, 2004 for public
comment.
Ms. Wang noted each department categorized their services into "basic", "important", and
"optional". She asked Council to review the distributed documentation regarding these categories
and their descriptions and provide staff with direction.
The Council discussed issues such as hiring freeze, levy lid lift, admissions tax, and association
fees.
III.
ADJOURNMENT
There being nothing further to come before the Federal Way City Council, Mayor McColgan
