To answer your question, I believe your collection of photographs with the date stamps will be adequate to satisfy our inquiry. However, there is one additional step we need to have you take in order to officially recognize the work that was done as permitted under our Shoreline Regulations. That is to complete and submit an application for an exemption from the Shoreline Substantial Development Permit. This application requires a letter along with the photo exhibits that document what was done. Normally we would have addressed this at the same time of the ADU application, but apparently that aspect of permitting fell through the cracks as we have no record of it being accomplished. Ordinarily, there is a fee for this review, but in this case, we will waive the fee. Upon receipt of the letter and Exemption application, we will review the material and then issue a letter that serves as a notice of exemption. We also forward the decision to the Washington State Dept. of Ecology for their records. I have attached the form for you to complete and submit along with your letter and photos. When you submit, bring in a copy of this email with the reference to the waiver of the fee in case there is any question about that. I apologize for the length of time it took me to respond to your calls. I have been out of the office quite a bit lately and am getting behind on my correspondence. We appreciate your following up on this matter. In question is the barbecue building improvement portion of the project; the structure was existing when we permitted the ADU. We made a cosmetic upgrade to the existing covered barbecue area, which' included a roof replacement and installation of brick around the existing supports. Please see the attached photos from before the project and after completion, showing the barbecue structure was existing before we started the ADU.
