Owner or agent: Date: F I KA L EE D We observed that the repair's phase of construction is all interior and exterior assemblies are covered, finished, and complete. The exception is a portion of the interior finishes at the southwest corner of unit E2 was removed allowing observation of all wood wall framing (see Figure 2). The wood -framing was replaced -in -kind. The solid sawn studs are full -height from sill plate to the floor framing above. The exterior sheathing is 1 /2" (nominal) plywood, but we were unable to observe the fasteners from the exterior. Based on our observations, the repairs to the motor vehicle impact appear to have the same or greater strength to resist both lateral and gravity loads, therefore the repairs are approved. Pike St. Seattle, WA 98122 info@ajpeng.com Upon your request, AJP Engineering was contracted by Tecton to observe and affirm that the repairs due to a vehicle impact to the southwest corner of unit E2 at the Homestead Apartments are consistent with best available practices, restores the as -built load path, and do not diminish the strength of the structural system. On July 8, 2023, a motor vehicle impacted the southwest corner of unit E2 and continued into the interior of the unit. The extent of the damage is (3) stud bays east of the southwest corner and (2) study bays north of the southwest comer (see Figure 1). The scope of repairs was to replace -in -kind the affected wood studs, plywood sheathing, base plates, fasteners, and finishes. Our investigation was limited to only visual observations. No external finishes were removed, no destructive testing was performed, and no plans were provided.
