1. Demolition and construction shall conform to the requirements of International Fire Code (IFC)
Chapter 33.
2. Before you start work, schedule a Pre -Construction meeting with the Deputy Fire Marshal by calling
253-946-7318.
3. Separate permits and approvals are required for review or inspection of new fire protection or
detection systems, or existing systems where any additions, alterations, or revisions are made. Obtain
permits through the City of Federal Way.
4. Group I-2, Condition 2 occupancies shall be equipped with an automatic smoke detection system in
accordance with IFC Section 907.2..6.2 and IBC Section 407.
4. Fire protection system impairments in occupied buildings requires a fire watch at the premises until
the systemfsl are returned to service.
