City of Federal Way and Wild Waves Holdings LLC
THIS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU), date effective upon mutual execution by all parties,
defines the respective responsibilities of the City of Federal Way, Washington ("City"), Wild Waves Holdings,
LLC dba Wild Waves, in regards to the Touch a Truck Special Event planned for Saturday, May 11, 2024,
Background:
In 2023, City of Federal Way partnered with Wild Waves as a new host location for the "Touch a
Truck" community special event in which trucks and vendors from across the area bring their vehicles and
equipment for the community to enjoy and see up close. The event is now in its 1 oth year. Given the success of
last year and the better fit of the location for the event in the Wild Waves parking lots, the City and Wild Waves
desire to have the event at the same location for the 2024 event.
Planned Event:
The Touch a Truck event will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 11:00am - 2:00pm, rain or shine at
the Wild Waves parking lot located at 36201 Enchanted Parkway S, in Federal Way, WA. The event is
recommended for all ages and is free to the public. Local businesses, organizations, first responders, the
military, and vendors bring their trucks, buses, equipment, and vehicles so the community can get an up -close
look and see how they work. The City of Federal Way is responsible for planning and organizing this event.
Wild Waves will provide advertising on social media and reader boards and the space (parking lot) for the
event.
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:
1. City Responsibilities. The City agrees to the following:
• The City will coordinate all details of the event, including but not limited to event logistics and
securing participating industry vehicles and trucks, booths/tables, and vendors.
• The City will provide a minimum of 8 City Employees during the event.
■ The City anticipates 30+ vendors/trucks at the event.
■ The City anticipates a public attendance of 1,800+ people.
• The City will provide garbage and recycle toters for food tent area.
• The City will provide portable toilets to be delivered the day before the event, Friday May 10, 2024,
to be picked up Monday, May 13, 2024.
• The City will advertise the event via the Recreation Catalog, City Social Media pages and local
media releases, and will include the Wilde Waves logo on advertising and promotional materials for
the event.
• The City of Federal Way will provide a letter of insurance coverage detailing its insurance coverage
at such levels appropriate for the anticipated potential risks for this event.
• The City will provide an area for Wild Waves to set up a table/tent/etc. at the event.
2. Wilt] Waves Hoidines. LLC. Wild Waves agrees to the following:
• Wild Waves will provide use of its 36201 Enchanted Pkwy S, Federal Way, WA 98003 parking lot for the
event and for the public to park and access the event.
• Wild Waves will meet City staff at the event location at 7:30am on Saturday, May 11, 2024, and
allow the City full access to the location until 4:30pm. Other than the day of the event, access will be
coordinated with Wild Waves as -needed to prepare for and drop off or retrieve items for the event
beginning May 10 through May 13, 2024.
• Wild Waves will provide information/advertising similar to other similarly situated events on its
property on its reader boards and other locations as appropriate and as approved by the City.
• Wild Waves will provide the City with details of any space needs for its booth/table at the event no
later than 30 days prior to the event.
• Wild Waves will assist Federal Way Parks staff with general garbage collection and disposal at the
end of the event.
