Use of EECBG Funding: Clean Tech
Innovation Corridor (CTIC)
• Pacific Raceways is a site of statewide significance in Washington State.
• Currently, the track owners are finishing construction on advanced manufacturing
facilities as well as research and development for sustainable mobility and
sustainable fuel/energy projects.
• Challenge: there is not sufficient office and lab space on the Pacific Raceways
property for these tenants.
• EECBG funding would support planning of the transformation of 50-100% of
Federal Way's empty 330,000 square foot IRG/former Weyerhaeuser headquarter
building into office and lab space for Pacific Raceways' advanced manufacturing
businesses and projects.
• Funding would also be used to create a workforce pipeline with Highline College
for the businesses who locate on the Pacific Raceways Sustainable Mobility
Campus.
• This would create clean energy jobs, a robust job pipeline, and job training for
individuals from disadvantaged communities and populations.
